It's Pink Saturday, what do you see?

What do you think that this is? Where do you think they are? How about what is directly below? What you see is the front of my breadbox and the little rosebud below is painted on the inside of the door. I ♥ my breadbox!
I just bet that you'll be able to guess where the pink curtains hang in my home. Yes, you're right! They are in the little powder-room on the main floor. That room, as is most of my home, is ultra feminine and filled with girlie goodies galore!

Let's see, we have little, pink rosebuds and pink stripes all wrapped up in the prettiest ticking that makes my ironing board a pleasure to see and to use! Hey, if you have to iron, you might at well have a good view, right?
Last, but not least because it is used nearly daily is, you guessed it, my handy-dandy kitchen stool. It helps me get to the top shelf of my cupboards and pinch-hits with my grandsons when they need a little boost at the kitchen sink to wash their hands before we make cookies!

This week she asked us for hints about how we make all of our visits for Pink Saturday because so many of us love to be included. Believe it or not, I visit each and every one of the blogs and sometimes there are over 160 of them! How do I do it? I divide Beverly's list into four sections. I do one in the morning. One around lunch-time, one after dinner and the last usually early on Sunday morning. They are all so pretty that I just see them each and every one!

Talk to a human at call-in centers & Are ALL Mommy bloggers for real?

It's not all that often that I find two articles in one day that I feel are blog-worthy or that I feel a need to share; however, this morning I found a web site that deals with a pet peeve of mine: Number pushing and talking to an automated system and never getting your question answered or being hung up on or never getting to talk to a human being!
If you've ever felt the frustration I feel whenever I call a business for help and either get someone who barely speaks English that I cannot, no matter how hard I try, understand; or a system that makes you talk to some automated sing-song voice that doesn't take you to the right place and then hangs up on you; or you get have to push hundreds of numbers only to get to the end with no resolution BEFORE you dial that number again, go to Get2Human.com. Not only does it give you the "key" to get to a human being on hundreds of businesses, it also lets you rate your experience with them, whether or not you could understand the operator if you did manage to speak to a human being and to suggest other businesses that they may not have listed. Believe me, you are gonna ♥ this place. I read about a year ago that many of the buisnesses listed tried to get the web site taken down, but we do have freedom of speech, thank goodness, so it is there standing proud!
The next place I found should be interesting for all of us who blog. CNN has an article on blogging and how many "mommy bloggers" are popping up via the web and that some of them just might not be who they say they are or appear to be. The article 'Mommy bloggers' vow to avoid ethical conflicts' is very interesting and gives the reader something to think about:

• 'Mommy bloggers' are fighting what they fear is a backlash against their profession
  
• Bloggers have been criticized for not disclosing relationships with advertisers
  
• Women bloggers launch 'Blog with Integrity,' 'PR Blackout' campaigns
  
• The FTC is reviewing federal guidelines for all bloggers

You are also led to a site Blog with Integrity where you can sign a pledge and place an icon on your blog that states you will do your best to improve blogging ethics.

Another great article to read is Newsweek's Trusted Mom or Sellout? Really gives you some food for thought concerning a growing past-time for some and a burgeoning industry for others.

So, this morning I found something that will take my blood pressure down several notches when I reach a call-center and something that addresses an issue that I have seen pop up every now and then when I've been reading blogs.

I got a lot of bang for my internet buck this morning. I hope you feel the same!

A little bit of this and a tiny bit of that. It's gotta be Pink Saturday!

A little of this and a little of that. A real grab bag for Pink Saturday. First you see the calendar on my fridge held up by my pink clips (I love those things). Every month there is a new recipe and this month's entry is for Wedding Cupcakes. Delicate and sweet, I know when I'm feeling in the mood to bake again this will be one of the first recipes I chose.

I have a few of these vintage cats hanging on my walls here and there but this is my only pink one so it's really special to me. I like the whimsical touch it gives to a room when you least expect it to pop up!
This very delicate wallpaper is in my downstairs guest powder room. I loved the light and delicate, almost watercolor, feel it gave me when I first saw it and I love it still.

Pulling up the rear is the wallpaper in my dining room. Dark and dramatic, it was picked out by my daughter-in-law, Cindy. The deep nature of the paper riddled with pinks here and there makes you sense drama, yet there are so many whimsical touches scattered about the room with little pink sheep in a basket, my sewing chair and basket - I love them all.

Just one thing, but what a purr-fect thing for PINK SATURDAY!

If you've been coming to visit with me on Pink Saturdays for very long you know that pink is a part of my DNA! I'm only featuring on thing today but what a cutie pie!
Today when out shopping, out of the corner of my eye (they rotate for the color pink) I spotted this kitty cookie canister. My gosh, it was pinkie l♥ve at first sight. My ♥ skipped a beat and I nearly swooned right there in the pet isle. My hands grew clammy, my brow perspired and my bottom lip quivered. I grabbed this little stinker and cradled it in my hands ever so gently; not wanting a scratch or dent to mar its lovely surface from store cart to my kitchen at home.It sits on my counter now, next to the pink cookie jar I have for my dogs (previous pink Saturday feature) filled to the brim with Temptations of every variety to tantalize my feline babies. Because I am so smitten, there was no way I was going to make my newest pink aquisition share the spot-light. This deserves a Pink Saturday all to itself!

♥Absolutely Heavenly Rocky Road Chocolate Dessert♥

This is so easy and so pretty and so good. I'm telling ya...it will make your eyes roll back into your head if you like chocolate!

Ingredients/Directions

• 1 (5.9-ounce) package chocolate instant pudding mix, reduced calorie or regular
  
• 1 cup milk
• 1 cup half and half
  
• 1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
• 1 (8-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed, regular or chocolate
  
• 16 double-stuffed Oreo cookies, crushed (about 2 cups)
• 3/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted
• 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  

Whisk together chocolate instant pudding mix and milk + half and half for 2 minutes. Cover pudding, and chill 5 minutes.

Stir together cream cheese and Cool Whip, blending well.

Place 1 cup crushed cookies evenly on bottom of an 8-cup bowl. Spread half of cream cheese mixture over crushed cookies; sprinkle with half of pecans and 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips. Spread all of pudding evenly over top; spread remaining cream cheese mixture evenly over pudding. Sprinkle with remaining cookies and pecans and mini chocolate chips. Chill until ready to serve.

I spoon the dessert into parfait glasses for serving to guests. If you really want to be fussy, layer the ingredients into the glasses before chilling.

Variations

Mocha-Chocolate Cookie Pudding: Crush 16 coffee-flavored cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies. Stir 2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee into cream cheese mixture. Proceed as directed.

Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cookie Pudding: Crush 16 peanut butter cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies. Substitute 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter for cream cheese and 1 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts for pecans. (I used used Double Delight Oreo Peanut Butter & Chocolate for sandwich cookies.)

Coconut Dream Pudding: Crush 16 vanilla filled sandwich cookies. Mix 1/2 cup toasted coconut into cream cheese, use white chocolate mini chips and top with toasted slivered almonds.

Welcome to Pink Saturday at Our Family Attic! I have the grands here for the weekend so I guess you could say I couldn't get out of the kitchen☺ This week you get to see more of my kitchen goodies and two friends that hold a special place in my heart.

These cookbooks hold some of the sweetest (sorry for the pun) ideas for parties, gifts and goodies to make for the special people in your life. I'm including a photo of the recipe for Capri-cones because I think it's just so clever to use an egg carton to hold them upright as you make them! What a great idea.

Next, what in the world would I do without my KitchenAid? Heck, I honestly don't know. I was raised in a home where my mother used hers nearly daily for just about anything you could imagine. Baking, sausage making, meat grinding and oodles of concoctions that made tummies smile all over Saginaw. When I married one of these beauties was presented to me by my mom. I used it for many years until I spied this pink model and just couldn't resist...who could?

OK, you're wondering what I need three shakers for on the table, aren't you? One for salt, one for pepper and one for Mrs. Dash!
Pulling up the rear is another shot of my lovely Camille Suzanne. She asked me to show everyone her velvety, pink ears. She was in the middle of grooming so she's on her back and was just getting ready to clean one of her dainty, little feet.
Camille Suzanne has been taking up a lot of Pink Saturday space on my blog. Recently Scout mentioned to me that he'd like to make an appearance. When I took this shot I had just asked him if he was a good boy and wanted a cookie. Well, you can see what he answered, plain as day! Not only is this guy cute and sweet and kind, he has a great pink tongue that he's sharing with you today!
