“Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand - and melting like a snowflake.” - Francis Bacon
You don't need to listen to Oprah or read Dr. Phil to know what you need at the end of a busy day. Just look to your furry friends. A good nap and a cuddle with your favorite blankie works wonders to refresh and restore your soul.
Our furry babies always seem to know whats best for them and they always brighten our days. Your furry babies are so adorable:) Have a wonderful day Melly:)
Oh so true!! At the end of the evening when I am really tired, our dog Cody seems to sense it and he comes around for a good long round of hugs and cuddles, and it really gets me going again, body and soul! Hugging him seems to calm me and get my emotions back on track! And all that cuddling doesn't seem to hurt him one bit either! :-) What a lovely thing to post about, Mimi!! Thanks. Debby
Such true words! Thanks so much for stopping by my blogs and leaving such a kind comment on The Charlie Project. It's nice to "meet" you. Love the whimsical feel you have to your site over here....I look forward to exploring further. :)
How sweet. I wish mine were sleeping like that right now. I usually feed them in the evening around 5:00, but they start going crazy around 3:00. Right now it's complete chaos. Do they think I'll forget to feed them? They're fed twice a day, so it's not like anyone is starving.
By the way, I posted the above at a little after 4:30 Central Time. It wasn't after 5:00 here. Maybe that's the problem...they'd rather be on Eastern Time. :)
Mercy helps you understand why a person did something, and have compassion for him, without approving of what he did. ~Author unknown
Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, "What, you too? I thought I was the only one.” ~ C.S. Lewis

If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand. ~author unknown
"I want first of all...to be at peace with myself. I want a singleness of eye, a purity of intention, a central core to my life that will enable me to carry out these obligations and activities as well as I can. I want, in fact - to borrow from the language of the saints - to live "in grace" as much of the time as possible. By grace I mean an inner harmony, essentially spiritual, which can be translated into outward harmony. I would like to achieve a state of inner spiritual grace from which I could function and give as I was meant to in the eye of God..." ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Gift from the Sea
"...generally, by the time you are real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..." The Velveteen Rabbit (the Skin Horse)
To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning. It is to trust that miracles happen, and dreams really do come true. To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds; to know the wonder of a stardust sky and the wisdom of the man in the moon. To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart, the innocence of a child’s eyes and the beauty of an aging hand. For it is through their teachings we learn to love. To believe is to find the strength and courage that lies within us. When it is time to pick up the pieces and begin again. To believe is to know we are not alone; that life is a gift and this is our time to cherish it. To believe is to know that wonderful surprises are just waiting to happen, and all our hopes and dreams are within reach. If only we believe. ~ Author Unknown
"What I expect from my male friends is that they are polite and clean. What I expect from my female friends is unconditional love, the ability to finish my sentences for me when I am sobbing, a complete and total willingness to pour their hearts out to me, and the ability to tell me why the meat thermometer isn't supposed to touch the bone." ~Anna Quindlen, Living Out Loud.
For my mother. I will always and forever love you. I will always and forever miss you...
"I must make my own way..."
~Beatrix Potter
To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich, to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never, in a word to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common, this is to be my symphony. - William Henry Channing
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Marcel Proust
There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~Mirabel Osler
