Kittens and rosebuds and blankies, oh my! Must be Pink Saturday!

What you see above is just a little milk glass trinket box with a hand painted rose that is in the master bath. Generally it will hold my earrings and those darned itsy, bitsy, teeny, tiny backs that so easily get lost!

Just like everyone else, I am wondering where the week went. Heck, I'm wondering where the summer went! The summer? Where did September go? Anyway, here we are again at Pink Saturday hosted by the gracious Beverly at HOW SWEET THE SOUND. There are oodles of pinkies participating this week so be sure to take a peek at them all.

This blanket sits at the foot of my bed. I snuggle into this sweet gem on cool summer evenings. Just about time to pack this away and to bring out something more heavy duty. The evenings are really getting cold!

I just adore this vintage figurine. I love the color and the design and the sentiment, too, because all of us at one time or another feel just like this little kitten and need someone to give us a hug.

Pulling up the rear this week is Miss Camille Suzanne. She reminded me as I was getting together this blog post that there was a photo of her on my laptop of her modeling her pink nose and pinkie velvet ears. She's not vain - nope, not one bit☺

Now on to my feature blog this week. I picked SWEET NOTHINGS! You will not meet a sweeter or more darling hostess than bj. She always has something kind to say and she always has something pretty to see and you always leave her blog feeling better than you did a few minutes before. And there are a couple of other reasons:

This dog! If anyone knows me at all they know that my heart belongs to animals and that a dog can wrap me around it's paws faster than it can wag it's tail. And - my mom died as a result of her breast cancer metastasizing in her bones and liver. My mammogram will take place at the end of this month. How about yours?

Lastly, I just LOVE the way she presents things and the fact that her blog isn't stale. What I mean is that she doesn't keep spewing out the same old stuff over and over. It is fresh and new and I'm sold! I think you will be too!

I am so honored that you featured me on your beautiful blog, Mimi.
I don't have anyone in my family that suffers or suffered from breast cancer but I feel a very strong urge to help as much as I can in the awareness of the horrible disease. My daughter had her mammogram yesterday....$450.00. I was STUNNED. No wonder so many women put off having a mammogram until, sometimes, it's too late.
How do we go about fighting that kind of charge??

I love your pinks today!

That is one beautiful dog. I like the pink breast cancer banner on the bottom of the post. I made eyeballs one year out of big red radishes and trimmed off enough white to make them look veiny, cut a hole and stuffed with black olives. Oh course the kids didn't like radishes. They will like yours better.

Happy Pink Saturday to you, Mimi! What a lovely post!

I get my mamo done every year. I get a reminder every year but a few years ago I kept saying, I'll call tomorrow, I'll call tomorrow. Well they kept showing the Run For The Cure promos here in Sacramento and then they were talking about it on a show I watch on the weekends. So come Monday I called and made my appt. This time I had a bit of a scare. I had to go in for a biopsy. Thankfully it was nothing.

So now whenever I get that reminder, I call right away for my appointment!

Hannah was my special girl. Kodak is papa's boy but now that Hannah is gone Kodak gives me extra boxer love as he knows my girl is gone.

My husband wants another girl boxer but I told him I'm not ready for a girlie one, Hannah was truly special and I'm just not ready, but perhaps a boy boxer, a brother for Kodak. Although Kodak I think enjoys being king of the castle I know he misses his sissy.

Hugs,
Marsha

Miss Camille Suzanne has every right to be vain. She is beautiful!
I am so sorry to hear that your mother died from breast cancer. We lost a very close friend a few years ago. She had one child and when I see him it breaks my heart. He is growing up so handsome and sweet. She would have been so proud. I'll chime in with you and repeat...do your breast exams. It is so very important!
Come visit me today. I'm having a pink giveaway!

I love your pink daisies floating down! And the little bluebirds!!!
Miss Camille Suzanne is gorgeous! We love doggies so much, too. I pray for their welfare day and night (wish I was exaggerating!).I used to have a silky black lab when I was growing up. He showed up at our house in the country. What an angel. I named him Fletcher~God bless him forever!

I liked your funny comment on my blog about self-respecting girls all owned daisy pins ;)
Your background is soooo delicious I could eat it but, then it wouldn't look so pretty ;)

That sweet kitty just sitting there so still & perfect! Love the blanket & yes, your neck of the woods (beatiful! I want to come back for another visit) is about to get COLD!

I am so sorry to hear you lost your Mom to Breast Cancer. CANCER IS A MONSTER!!!!!! I had double mastectomies in 2005 & am FREE now! I have a button on my sidebar (with the pink rose) that when you click on it... takes you to a site where one click helps donate money for free mamograms. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TAKE IT & PASS IT ALONG. Free could helps so many with early detection. And it is so easy to click on every day when we check our own blogs. Let's share the PINK love ladies. Thanks Mimi for the reminders to us all. HUGS!

Lovely pink in deed. Yes, we all need hugs, preferably a good one every day. It is cooler today...mid 70's. But here in Texas it could be 90 tomorrow. We have a saying 'round here...'If you don't like the weather stick around it will change soon.'
You thought my little gray cat (not as cute as your Camille Suzanne)was inside the house looking out...Secret is...that's my front porch. I have so much stuff that it spells over into the outside. I really should show the whole thing someday. Or not!
And BJ is a sweetie for sure. Love her blog too. I know she appreciates the kind words.
Blessings ;-)

Good morning. Happy belated pink Saturday. I love your pink post. Thank goodness mammograms are free here in this country, insurance and the state pays for it.Your new president Obama is fighting for insurance for everybody in the USA , probably mammograms will get free then too. I hope for you all he gets it through.Bill Clinton didn't make it, hopefully Obama can. Have a nice day.
