Thrift store finds, Easter left-overs & strawberry smoothies, it MUST be PINK SATURDAY!

I just don't have the heart to put this little guy away for a year. He's the right color. He's cute. He makes me happy. So, until, and if, I get tired of looking at a little Easter bunny, he will sit atop the books next to my reading chair. Who would have ever thought that fake chocolate bunnies would earn a spot in the heart of the world? Beats me but someone is laughing all the way to the bank and not many people do that now-a-days, hehehe!

Usually when the grandkids and I get together, sodas, malts or shakes are the snack of the evening, although I do slip in a smoothie quite often to make their mom and dad happy! Of course, what else would Mimi serve up her creamy concoction in other than pink tumblers with a pink straw poked into the top of the foam?

Been a busy week over in my neck of the woods. For the past few days I have been chopping ice and shoveling snow...tossing it into the sun to it will melt. (My back is killing me.) My garage shelters mounds of snow from the sun so spring doesn't come to that part of my yard unless I do something about it. BUT, even with all my chores around the house I managed to do a little thrifting over at my favorite place, Goodwill Industries (some this week, the rest next week for Pink Saturday).

You've seen Rosemary's bed a few weeks ago but it's making a second debut because I found this sweet, pink, knitted baby blanket for $2.00 and couldn't resist. Now Rosemary can cuddle into her kitty bed, snuggle into her new blankie and snooze to her ♥'s content. I am always amazed that little gems like this blanket are sold for so little. I knit and this item took a lot of hours to complete...sigh.

Found this Noritake cup along with another at the Goodwill Store for just $2.00. Now, honestly, I wish I would have found more, but they will be used, especially when I want to spend time sipping tea with one of my special friends.

Around the next corner at Goodwill I came upon this sweet, pink baby bootie that at one time must have held ivy and an adorable card to welcome a little girl into this big world of ours. I can't tell you how many of these I have tossed out never giving it another thought. But now they are making a resurgence in collecting and have become a "find" of all things. So, a couple of months ago I really looked at one and found a new appreciation for the sweetness and coloration. OK, so here comes another little collection that I'll have to dust. Gee, when will I learn? Probably never. The others that I have will make an appearance on another Pink Saturday. I filled those with cotton balls, Q-tips and guest soaps. This one...maybe it will end up on my kitchen table filled with sugar packets. Cute, huh? Any ideas for more?

Don't forget to pop over to Beverly's at How Sweet the Sound to see all of the other folks who have participated this week. My gosh, you'll see some of the most creative, lovely and special blogs and today, loaded with pink-a-licious goodies just for you!

I love the little bootie and think it will be happy holding the packets of sweetness. I have seen these in the Goodwill but didn't think of the practical use like you did. And the other things are pretty, as well. Hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

A nice collection of pinks. You did very well at Goodwill! I see those little containers all the time and didn't realize they've now become collectibles. I'm just running out of shelf space. My latest collection is bronzed baby shoes. I'm trying to save them. It's sad that no one wanted them, so if the price is right I snatch them up.

This is an inspiring entry. You're right, who says you have to hide the bunnies right after Easter. I keep bunnies in my garden all year long. I enjoyed your entry, and that teacup is just heavenly!

I have that same pink toile bed for my little dog. She's slept in it 4 times. The little stinker prefers to sleep with someone. You'd think with such a soft, pretty option she would sleep in it, but nothing doing. She's not spoiled or anything!
Have a great weekend and happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday Mimi! I am in love with your pink bunny, and you reminded me so much of myself - when I love something, I hate to pack it away after the holiday is over, so I have been known to have my favorite Xmas ornaments hanging from lamps and such after Santa has long gone back to the North Pole! Life is too short to see my favorite things only once a year!! So let that bunny stay, please. :-) I also love your Noritake rose-designed vintage cup. What a find. I could picture myself happily sipping tea from such a pretty cup. Can you imagine having a whole Noritake set of dishes just like that. Ahhh, perfect! Have a good weekend. Debby

Goodwill was good to you my friend. You got some great finds. I adore the baby shoe and I would love to start collecting the little duckies and bunnies or baby bassinets but I too have run out shelf space. It's hard to walk away from them though! Happy Pink Saturday! ~ Robyn

Oh, all of your pink finds are soooo sweet! I just don't think I could ever part with Mary and Ben's baby planters...just too precious! And to think that people are collecting them?!!! Well, not Mary and Ben's...they're far from "vintage" at this time!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving your kind comments,
Valerie

Who says bunnies can't stick around after Easter?....not me, I have a few that plan to stay for a bit. Your thrifting finds are very sweet and what child wouldn't love coming to your house with all that creamy goodness.....pass me a straw, please. Thank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comments.

Best Wishes,

Great finds - and why not keep that Bunny out as long as you like? I answer to your question, Scout somehow lets me do whatever I want photo-wise, unless she is very hyper at the moment, and then all bets are off! Happy Pink Saturday!

I have several easter items that are not being packed away. I'm sure around Fall they will need to move to make room but for now they stay put! Happy Pink Saturday!

You found some great items Mimi. I went to the Goodwell yesterday and came home with nothing. I need to go back in a couple of weeks and have another look. I don't blame you for leaving the bunny out, no where does it say you can't enjoy him all year, Happy Pink Saturday, Char

Hi Mimi! Just popping in before we leave for Austin.

I love your teacup find at the Goodwill! And you are so right about the nursery planters. If it hadn't been for my bloggy friend Jenn, I wouldn't have been aware of how collectable they are. And like you, I've tossed or bypassed so many of them at the thrift stores that now I've got my spotlight eyes on....lol!

I love the pink straw dispenser! What fun! I like the fake chocolate bunny as well. I have left Christmas items out for a year because I couldn't bear to put them away. I was ready to pack them up by the next year. It makes it really special to rediscover them each year.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Good morning dear Mimi, thank you so much for your sweet comment on my grandson and Pink Saturday. I was gone all day yesterday and came home so worn out I went to bed. No visiting yesterday. So today I will be very busy.

Your Goodwill finds are terrific. I love going there, but here in the mountains there isn't a Goodwill to be found. sigh! Your kitty lives in a very loving home. She is a sweetie I am sure. Love her comfy blanket. The cup and saucer is a find as is the bootie. Haven't we all discarded things we wish we had kept?

Have a happy Sunday.

Hugs...Jeanne

Mini, I just love the pink gadget thingie for drinking straws. I want one! Wonder if I can find one in the UK... Oh, I just adore retro kitchen gadgets....

Love the pink bunny too. This pink is really addictive - it's never been "my colour" but it's been very liberating to get out of my comfort zone and let some pinkness into my life. And I'm meeting such nice people too!

Happy Pink Saturday sweetie.

I love the pink bunny, and I wouldn't put him away either! Your thrift store finds are wonderful. I kept my son's baby booties like that pink one, only his are blue. I was going to give them away, but I'm glad now that I kept them. Isn't it funny what grows on you?
